This site is new. The team behind it is a very small team of people who believe that what is presented here matters. The pages you see are the first pages. The articles section you are reading right now has almost nothing in it yet. The videos section is empty. The research pages are growing but far from complete.

We are telling you this not as an apology but as an invitation. You are not arriving late to something that has already been figured out. You are arriving at the beginning, at a moment when your questions, your perspective, your participation can actually shape what this becomes.

This is a site about the Transition — a fundamental shift in how human societies organize themselves, away from economic systems that concentrate power and resources into fewer and fewer hands, toward structures designed from the ground up to empower every person and community. If you have read any of the books on this site, you know what that means in practical terms. If you haven’t, the material is here, all of it, free and without conditions. Start wherever makes sense to you.

What you will find here is research, analysis, books, stories, questions and answers, and a growing collection of articles and other resources. What you will not find is a membership fee, a donation button, a mailing list that sells your information, a political party, a charismatic leader asking you to follow them, or an organization asking you to join. There is nothing to join. There is nothing to buy. There is no inner circle.

This is not an accident. It is by design.

The Transition is not something that can be owned, branded, or controlled from a central location. The moment it becomes that, it has already failed, because it would be replicating the very power structures it seeks to replace. A movement that depends on a single leader, a single organization, or a single website is a movement that can be stopped by stopping that leader, that organization, or that website.

Think instead of a dandelion. When a dandelion goes to seed, it does not try to grow a bigger dandelion. It releases hundreds of tiny seeds into the wind, each one carrying everything it needs to take root wherever it lands — in a crack in the sidewalk, in an open field, in soil that no one thought could grow anything. No one coordinates where the seeds go. No one decides which ones are worthy. The wind carries them, and the ones that find fertile ground grow into new plants that release their own seeds in turn.

That is what this site is meant to be. Not a headquarters. Not a central authority. Not even, ultimately, the most important source of information about the Transition. It is one dandelion releasing seeds. The ideas here — the analysis, the research, the practical proposals — are meant to travel, to be taken up by people in different countries, different cultures, different circumstances, and adapted to what makes sense where they are. If someone in another country reads these materials, translates the ideas into their own language and cultural context, and creates something better suited to their people than anything we could have made from here — that is not competition. That is exactly what success looks like.

We will be adding articles that go deeper into specific questions — the kinds of questions that people actually ask when they first encounter these ideas. How will I get the things I need without money? Will I still own my home? Who decides what gets produced? What about people who refuse to contribute? What about countries that haven’t transitioned? These are real questions that deserve real answers, not dismissive hand-waving, and we will address them honestly and in depth.

We will also be adding videos — short and longer pieces that explore these topics in ways that written text sometimes cannot. We will be expanding the research section. We will be growing, but at a pace that allows us to do things well rather than do them fast.

If you have a question that you want addressed, ask it. If you see something on this site that you think is wrong, say so. If you want to help, the most powerful thing you can do right now is share the ideas — not this website specifically, but the ideas themselves. Talk to people. Think about what a Transitioned version of your own community would look like. Write about it. Argue about it. Improve upon it. Make it yours.

The most common response people have when they first read about the Transition is: “This could never work.” The second most common response, usually after they have actually read the material, is: “Why aren’t we doing this already?” The distance between those two responses is the distance that this site exists to help people travel.
