World in Transition is maintained by a very small team. There is no organization behind it, no funding source, no political affiliation. It exists because the ideas and the evidence deserve to be accessible to everyone.

The transition strategy described in the books has been revised — from overnight transformation to incremental community-building. Why the change strengthens the work, not weakens it.

A note on scope and cultural context
This project is intended to reach the entire world, but it has to start somewhere, and it cannot be localized to every country and language at once. The United States is a natural starting point — one of the most prominent and globally impactful countries, currently undergoing a late-stage oligarchic capture of its democratic constitutional government. The structural dynamics visible there — wealth concentration, institutional erosion, manufactured scarcity — are present in most countries, even if the specifics differ. The analysis, examples, and language on this site currently reflect that US origin.
Localization is an ongoing project, not an afterthought. The site will be adapted to other English-speaking countries, then to other languages and cultural contexts — not by imposing one culture's framing on another, but by working with people in each context to develop analysis and language that reflects their own realities, issues, strengths, and ways of doing things. Every country and culture has its own structures of power, its own forms of resistance, and its own wisdom about what works. We are not here to overwrite any of that.
A note on who we are
The ideas here were developed by one person over many years, drawing on science, history, and a willingness to follow the evidence even when it meant abandoning earlier assumptions. The site is maintained by a very small team that believes these ideas should be freely available.
We are not leaders. We are not gurus. We found a path through the evidence and we're sharing what we found. If it holds up to scrutiny, it will spread on its own merits. If it doesn't, it should be corrected or discarded.
